The legal position of the statutory director differs from that of 'ordinary' employees, in several fundamental ways. Statutory directors are often subject to different and supplementary rules and agreements, not only with regard to appointment and dismissal but sometimes also in respect of remuneration (for example the Standards for Remuneration Act (WNT)) and legal supervision.
