Seminar at EYE
Kyra Jegen started with the topic of dismissal for dysfunction based on the d-ground. She zoomed in on dossier construction and the question of what improvement processes should look like. Job van der Pijl delved into the history of the combination ground, the so-called i-ground. He also took stock of the use of the combined ground, 5 years after its introduction. Maarten Stekelenburg discussed the transition compensation and listed which wage components count for the calculation. He discussed groundbreaking judgments such as the Kolom decision and the Xella decision. Finally, he discussed the plans to abolish the compensation scheme after two years of illness. Olav van der Kind paid attention to the criterion of 'serious culpability' in the light of fair compensation. Using stimulating practical examples, he discussed with the audience developments in case law. Finally, as usual, our professor Prof. Ruben Houweling concluded the seminar with current topics including the study costs clause and the zero tolerance policy where it concerns the drinking and drug use of employees.
